Summary

This HIP recommends that the community provisionally sets the majority of the currently unspecified and EU433 region countries in the Africa region to the EU868 regional frequency plan.

Proposal Details:

That the listed countries in the HIP have the EU868 regional frequency plan assigned as a default operating frequency and deployed Helium Hotspots can then operate as light gateways supporting sensor uplinks, downlinks and Proof of Coverage, additionally Data Only Hotspots can support sensor uplinks and downlinks. Legalities of operation are still the responsibility of the local operator and Helium will support these operators in complying with any local frequency spectrum regulatory authorities requirements.

Approval Requirements:

This HIP is considered approved if 67% of the voting power is reached.

This HIP must reach the quorum of 100,000,000 veIOT to be considered valid.
